Kaytlyn Joan Eberly Adkins

I am a daughter loved by my parents, a humbled baby sister to three older brothers, an aunt seven times over, a wise granddaughter from the stories of my grandparents, a blessed wife with a growing family, and a grateful servant of God. I have been blessed with the opportunities I have had, and I use my doctorate of occupational therapy to help those around me. I am now married to my best friend and we are living our best lives in Michigan. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so enjoy the ones below to get to know me better. They are but a snap shot of this crazy thing I call life.

God is greater than the highs and lows, and He has used these moments to shape the woman I am today.

I recently obtained my doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Indianapolis. As a part of our curriculum, I had the opportunity to develop a program in a setting that could benefit from an occupational therapist. I wanted to combine two of my passions: occupational therapy in wellness and pageant participation. After graduating, I was able to continue my work as an occupational therapist assisting pageant participants with wellness at the state competition level.

I have had the opportunity to compete in several pageant organizations including, the Miss Indiana Organization, Indiana State Festivals Association, and the Indiana State Fair Organization. I love each of these organizations and what they stand for. My program started out as a way for me to give back to the Miss Indiana Organization as I completed my doctoral curriculum, and now I want to provide wellness resources and guidance on a much larger scale.

balance2bewell is a program with the goal to increase wellness by balancing mind, body, and spirit.

Since graduating, I have continued to further my education on all aspects of occupational therapy. I plan to connect my future work with the program I developed through this experience in order to enhance the lives of my patients.

When I competed in the Miss Indiana Pageant in 2016, I was honored to win the Betsy's Best Scholarship. For the chance to win this scholarship, we were to create a one minute video essay that demonstrated our daily health, active lifestyle, and entrepreneurial experiences.
